About

I recently graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering and a minor in Healthcare Markets.

I’m passionate about translational and interdisciplinary research, particularly in developing medical devices that support personalized medicine and leverage technology to combat disease. I’m especially interested in innovations that address chronic conditions and mental health — areas where long-term solutions can significantly improve quality of life. I'm drawn to projects that span the full device pipeline, from problem identification and design to testing and iteration.

Currently, I’m applying to PhD programs and seeking scholarships to support my graduate studies and continue developing technologies that help people live longer, healthier lives.

Research Experience

Visiting Researcher | Deep Imaging Analytics Lab | Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
May 2025 – Present | Troy, NY

At DIAL, I began with a literature review on reinforcement learning and reproduced a prior lab member’s multimodal classifier for predicting blood-brain barrier permeability using SMILES strings. This sparked my interest in how AI could accelerate drug discovery. I then proposed a new project to Dr. Pingkun Yan focused on generating valid, novel SMILES optimized for CNS-relevant properties using reinforcement learning. This became the primary focus of my work in the lab.

Researcher and Co-Author | Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Sep 2023 – May 2024 | Troy, NY

During my junior year at Rensselaer, I reached out to Dr. Nancy Campbell to ask if she needed any help with her upcoming research. As a former athlete, I was especially drawn to a project she was starting on extreme sports athletes and how modern frameworks of addiction intersect with their experiences. Over the course of several months, we met weekly to discuss our progress and exchange ideas. Eventually, she invited me to join the project as a co-author.
Research Assistant | Human Systems Neuroscience Lab | Boston University
Apr 2019 – Aug 2019 | Boston, MA

During the summer before my senior year of high school, I would travel an hour and half via bike, train, and subway to the Human Systems Neuroscience Lab at Boston University. This was my first exposure to research where my love for science blossomed. Dr. Basilis Zikopoulos and Dr. Miguel Ángel García Cabezas selflessly and consistently offered up their time for spontaneous lessons on neuroscience and human anatomy while encouraging my curiosity as a young researcher. I assisted a postdoc with their project of mapping out the hypothalamus neural networks by tracing EM images of neurons.
